Hello World!

Welcome to my personal website! This is something I've been working off and on for the past few months. While it's not as beautiful as I originally envisioned, just getting the website running as it is right now was already a tremendous amount of work, so it was important to get the basic things done first. I'm hoping to eventually update the site with more pages and more details to the general layout, but as it is right now, I think it's a good starting point. Sorry to any mobile users using the site.

Before making this website, I had thought for a long while to have a place to show off the various things and projects I've worked on. There are many social medias and communities I've joined over the years, so I've always been pretty scattered with the stuff I want to show off.

I had thought about making video essays about topics I love on YouTube, but those end taking much more effort than I could muster.

Twitter/X used to be a good place for me to talk about Mario Kart related things, but now that I've gathered an audience that only really cares about Mario Kart, it's hard for me to talk about anything else. And now thanks to one of the worst CEO acquisitions in history, it's a site that I actively want to avoid now.

I tried running my own discord server for a while, where I would talk about my personal projects. This worked okay for a bit, but with how walled off Discord is and how active I needed to be to keep the server alive, I abandoned on maintaining that server pretty quickly. Sorry to anyone who liked being in that server.

BlueSky is the best option for a social media right now, and I've felt more comfortable posting there more often. But despite how terrible Twitter/X has gotten, not enough people have felt the need to make the switch. And ultimately, Bluesky is not all that different from Twitter.

With the resurgence of the personal web, it felt logical that the best option would be to make my own website. No longer am I bound to the limitations and algorithms of social media. I get to decide what should be shown off on my site and I get to put as much effort into it as I'm willing to do.

If you're a creative person or just want to have a place to talk about your favorite topics, I do recommend making your own website as well! Carrd and Strawpage are good options if you just need to put something together quickly, but I also do recommend learning a bit of HTML and CSS to make a site on Neocities! Your site doesn't have to look as nice as mine, just a few HTML tags are enough to get a functioning site up and running. As long as you're passionate about something, people will be interested in it.

That's all I wanted to talk about with my website. I'm not sure what the next thing is I'll be working on, but you can expect me to write more random blog posts like these every so often. I can at least say there are some exciting things happening in my life. Just recently I've revealed that I'm on the note charting team for an upcoming commercial rhythm game called Stage Tour! (how???) Oh, and I also will be doing an apprenticeship at an art school in September, where I'll be studying graphic design. I don't think I've told anyone that yet.
